Lisa Tang Liu is an interdisciplinary visual artist working in photography, collage,bookmaking, and painting. As a naturalized U.S. citizen raised in a working-class family, she ponders the tension between belonging and alienation, as well as themeaning of being “American.” Her conceptual work examines our interconnectedness with each other and all living things. Lisa is currently exploring the space between the physical and virtual layers of our lives.
Lisa earned a BA from Wellesley College and studied at the New England School of Photography. She is a recipient of the 2026 Mass Cultural Grant for creative individuals in Visual Arts. Held in several private collections, Lisa’s work has been exhibited in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New York, Arizona, California, Oregon, South Carolina, and Texas.
She lives with her husband Ken and their two daughters in Massachusetts.
